Test Builder - PrepTimeAI

Test Generation will take your notes, presentation, and text to generate test questions! You can select the content, difficulty level, and modifications as needed.

Start on the Teacher Toolkit. Click on PrepTimeAI.

Next, Click on Test Builder.

Content Personalization

 Give your test a title, tell us about the content, and upload any supporting documents such as presentations, lecture notes, worksheets, etc. The more detail you include here, the better the output will be. 

Test Personalization

Choose the questions types, number of questions, and time allowed for the test. Next, decide on a grade level and difficulty level. You can choose between basic levels like easy to hard, or Bloom's Taxonomy for more detailed applications. Lastly, finish with any modifications or specific requests that haven't already been covered in the test builder interface. 

Generate Test

The "Generate Test" button will take you to a new page where your content, prompts, and settings will result in text based test content! You can use the chat prompt at the bottom of the page to refine or adjust the output as needed. This is a great way to ask for additional questions, translation to other languages, or adjustment to the difficulty. 

What can I do with this test content?

Now that you have generated a test, you can apply these questions to your preferred testing platform. As Merlyn is not a student facing platform, we do not have test capabilities. 

THAT SAID, we still want to help you get this content into a usable form as simply as possible. The quickest way right now is to use Google Forms. 

1. Save your generated test content to your Google Drive. (Remember what you name the test!)
2. Open a new, blank Google Form.
3. Gemini will prompt you to "Start creating".
4. Tell Gemini you want a graded quiz, add any details you need, then use the "@" symbol to name the test document you just created
5. Click "Create" and Gemini will create a graded quiz from your test content! You should double check the settings, then share it with your students! 

Note: I've been able to go from generated test content to ready-to-deploy quiz within a minute using this process. It's much faster than any other method I've found. Please comment on this page if you find a better way!
