LMS Integrations - Google Classroom and Canvas

Use Merlyn to share content, make announcements, create assignments, and check homework in Google Classroom and Canvas!

Make an announcement on your LMS

Merlyn can quickly post an announcement on the main page of your LMS. 

Say "Announce to my <LMS class name> that <content>"

For example:

• "Announce to my 3rd period science class that the test tomorrow will be rescheduled to Friday."
• "Announce to my Student Council class that the meeting will start at 8:00 AM"

Note: If Merlyn is unsure of the exact class that you wish to share to, it will prompt you to choose the correct class before posting the announcement. 

Share content to your LMS

Merlyn can share web-based content directly to your LMS. 

Open the content you wish to share, display the content, then say "Share this with my <LMS class name>"

For example:

• "Share this with my 4th period science class"
• "Send this link to my 1st period class"

Create an assignment on your LMS

Merlyn can create the assignment in your LMS to expedite your workflow. 

Say "Create an assignment called <name> for <LMS class name>.”

For example:

• "Create an assignment called Cell Division Homework for 1st period biology."

Note: Merlyn will not create the content for this homework. This command will only build the assignment for this class. You will still need to add the directions and links to publish the assignment.

Check Homework on your LMS 

Merlyn can display an assignment from your LMS to check who has completed the work

Say "Show assignments for my <LMS class name>"

For example:

• "Show assignments for my 1st period science class"

Send an assignment reminder to students - Google Classroom only

Merlyn can send a reminder through Google Classroom to any students about missing assignments. The student will receive a personal note with the list of missing assignments. 

Say "Remind my <Google Classroom class name> students to turn in assignments"

For example:

• "Remind my 1st period science class students to turn in their assignments"

Note: This feature is limited to Google Classroom because Canvas does not support this action.

Take Attendance - Google Classroom only

Merlyn can create an excel spreadsheet allowing you to keep track of attendance for your classes. 

Say "Take attendance for me <Google Classroom class name>"

For example:

• "Take attendance for my first period science class."

Note: This feature is limited to Google Classroom because Canvas does not support this action.
