Admin can now push shortcuts and reminders to their teachers using the management console.
This is ideal for standardizing and pre-loading shortcuts and reminders for the teachers, or sending campus wide messages that will pop up on screen at a pre-set time and interval.
Creating and editing user shortcuts
1. Login to the Merlyn management portal. (manage.merlyn.org)
2. In the upper navigation bar, click on "Shortcuts".
3. Choose the desired organization from the drop down menu.
4. Create a shortcut by clicking on one of the Unassigned shortcuts.
5. In the pop-up window, choose Link from the drop down.
6. Enter easy-to-remember voice requests for your new shortcut, as well as the full URL (http/https is required), and choose a numbered shortcut button to use for your link.
7. Click Create Shortcut at the bottom of that window to save!
Note: Admin shortcuts will only override non-personalized teacher shortcuts. For example, if a teacher has never created a personal shortcut, admin shortcuts will be function. However, if the teacher has personalized the remote shortcuts, admin shortcuts will not override the teacher created shortcuts.
Creating and editing user reminders
1. Login to the Merlyn management portal. (manage.merlyn.org)
2. In the upper navigation bar, click on "Reminders".
3. Choose the desired organization from the drop down menu.
4. Create a reminder by clicking on the "+Add Reminder" button on the bottom of the page.
5. In the pop-up window, choose the time and date that you would like to see the reminder.
6. Choose the frequency. You can choose between Never, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly.
7. In the "Remind teachers to..." box, include the text that should pop up on the teacher's display.
8. Add a link that will pop up with the reminder. (optional)
9. Click Save at the bottom of that window to save!
