Integrate Merlyn with Canvas

IT Admins:

Please contact us at [e-mail] first to obtain your Organization ID. 

1. Once you have the Organization ID from Merlyn Support, head over to your Canvas site, and click Admin from the menu on the left and choose your school account from there.

 

2. From the Admin menu, click on Developer Keys, and click + Developer Key and then API Key on the right-hand side of that page.

3. In the Key Settings window, enter the following information and click Save in the lower right-hand corner:

Name	Merlyn Mind
Owner Email	IT Admin district email address
Redirect URIs	https://rest-api.merlyn.org/oauth-integrations/canvas--orgId/callback  **
Redirect URI (Legacy)	Leave blank
Vendor Code (LTI 2)	Leave blank
Icon URL	Leave blank
Notes	Leave blank
Enforce Scopes	Leave slider in Off position.

** Please replace orgID with the Organization ID you received from Merlyn Support for the Redirect URI. **

4. Click on the State slider to the right of the new Key that was just created to activate it:

5. Copy both the Client ID and the alphanumeric code from Show Key in the Details column and send those along with your Canvas URL (ie. merlynsupport.instructure.com) to [e-mail].

Please allow our team 1-2 business days to complete the integration once we receive the required information. We will be in touch as soon as your integration is live! 

Educators:

1. Go to Merlyn's Teacher Toolkit at portal.merlyn.org and click on Integrations from the buttons on the bottom half of the page.

2. Click on Link to the right of Canvas: 

3. A new Canvas window should open. Click on Authorize and you'll receive a confirmation screen. 

4. On the Toolkit Integration page, you should see Unlink Canvas to confirm that's been successfully linked!

5. Use Voice Commands to access Canvas and share content!
